Science week ran from 8th-15th November and we really enjoyed it here at Scoil Chorp Chríost We started off with a 'Primary School Science Talk' on zoom from Kerry Education Centre. It was very interesting and we all learned lots of fun facts. We finished the day with a competition. Each pod in the classroom were in competition with each trying to make the highest tower only using spaghetti and marshmallows . It was very challenging for all the pupils and took a lot of thinking and patience to make a tower. The 6th class girls group won!
On Tuesday we participated in a marine science webinar where we learned about fish and lots of other creatures. It was very interesting .
On Wednesday we played with 'Lego We Do' where we made lots of different machines and connected then to the tablets to control them and make them move and we added lots of different sounds. All the pupils had so much fun.
On Thursday we tried making houses out of cards which took serious concentration and a lot patience. After that we followed different tutorials to draw illusions and 3D objects.
On Friday we finished the week making our own playdough using conditioner, cornstarch and food colouring.
We loved being scientists for the week!
