Knockanure is a fantastic community with lots of amenities. Here is some information on those:
The church is an international modern style single cell roman catholic church which is located in Knockanure village. It one of only two of its kind in Europe. It is a nice small church, this is where the 2nd class pupils from our school make their First Holy Communion. Some of the pupils from our school do altar serving at mass on Sundays.
The centre was built in 1878 and was originally the site of Knockanure N.S. It reopened as a Community Centre after extensive renovations in 2007.
The community centre is used for birthday parties, social days for the elderly, meetings and discussions groups. We are so proud of our volunteers in Knockanure who provide a 'Meals On Wheels' service since the beginning of the Covid-19 lockdown.
Our school benefits hugely from the facility as we use it for many different activities such as gymnastics, yoga and boxercise.
There is now a fine GAA pitch here in Knockanure . We hope to make a lot of use of it in the coming months and years. During sports week we hope to go there for lots of fun and activities.
